Great Wall challenge for a Great cause!

Not one to shy away from a challenge Mary Williams, RDW team member, has set her sights on completing a gruelling five day trek along the Great Wall of China.

The charity trek, with Global Adventure Challenges, will raise money for the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund who raise vital funds for the provision of quality cancer care for patients in Shropshire and Mid Wales.

Mary Williams has worked at RDW Exhibitions for many years and when managing Partner Mark heard of Mary’s challenge offered sponsorship on behalf of the company to help build her total to a fantastic £1500.

Mark said of Mary “She’s always seeking to help others and has been dedicated to her difficult training programme to get fit for the challenge. We wish her the best of luck in her trip and in continuing to raise money for this worthy cause.”

The trek begins at Taipingzhai and the itinerary includes up to 9 hours trekking a day along the Great Wall, a beautiful but tough trek, with steep steps and uneven paths along the route.

The longest man made structure in the world the Great Wall of China dates from the 7^th century BC and was first opened to tourists in 1957.
